1)   $130M to Make Philadelphia the Nation's Energy Efficiency Research Hub

The U.S. Department of Energy selected Philadelphia and Penn State to develop a national model of energy efficiency research and commercialization at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. What potential impact will the hub have on manufacturers and energy conservation companies in the Philadelphia region? What could this type of investment mean for the region’s workforce development and education efforts? Could our leadership in energy efficiency research also propel the region’s efforts to retrofit our real estate? Learn more from two of this monumental project’s ringleaders:

2)   Leadership Exchange of Greater Philadelphia Meets San Francisco’s Green Economy

In September, the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia hosted 100 of our region’s finest in San Francisco, CA for Leadership Exchange of Greater Philadelphia. The topic: green economy. When SBN Executive Director, Leanne Krueger-Braneky, returned she said she learned as much about Philadelphia’s strengths as she did about San Francisco’s. Three leaders from the trip join the Stakeholders Meeting to share their experience and a few surprises from the trip:

3)   Greenworks, Economy 2.0

The Director of Sustainability for the City of Philadelphia, Katherine Gajewski, joins the Stakeholders Meeting to engage you in an important update the office is making to the City’ sustainability plan, Greenworks. Hear what changes are being made and assist in plans for the future of the Greenworks - Economy strategy:

Green Economy Task Force



The Green Economy Task Force is a coalition of concerned citizens, businesses, government officials, organized labor, non-profits, and communities of faith that is working to build an inclusive green economy in the Philadelphia region that benefits our neighborhoods, our working families, and our planet.  Convened by the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia in February of 2008, the Task Force has grown to include almost 600 Stakeholders and over 300 organizations.
